The Lakeview Community Association (LCA) recognizes that from time to time, families have financial pressures which may limit participation of their children in LCA activities.

The LCA has established this ‘No One Left Behind’ policy to fund specific and individual cases to assist families where they cannot afford activities for their children.  Please review the attached policy and contact Nadia in the main office (403-242-8660 or [email protected]) for assistance/questions.

FAMILY FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE POLICY

Procedure

The Lakeview Community Association (LCA) organizes events and activities for children within the boundary of the Community.

The LCA recognizes that from time to time, families have financial pressures which may limit participation of their children in LCA activities.

The LCA has established this ‘No One Left Behind’ policy to fund specific and individual cases to assist families where they cannot afford activities for their children.

Policy

The lakeview community will set aside a maximum of $10,000 for each calendar year.

Applications for LCA Financial Assistance will only be accepted from families living within the LCA boundary.

All applications are confidential and only the assigned No One Left Behind coordinator will be aware of the name and personal situation of applicants.

Based on the circumstances the applicant may be requested to provide basic information such as household income and family size. If needed, this information will be used as a basis for a financial needs test. The needs test will apply Statistics Canada’s Low Income Cut-Off for Alberta (LICO) metric that is updated annually. Notwithstanding this, the coordinator has discretion to assess the application as they believe appropriate.

Funds may be used to offset part, or all, of any cost associated to an application.

Funding provided is relative to single applications only and does not guarantee future funding commitments.

Where applications are approved, funds will be provided to the activity as if they had been paid by families in order to properly account for the assistance and to fund the associated activity appropriately.
