Wine Night Cancelled

To all our wine enthusiasts,

As many of you may already know, the Lakeview Community Hall is undergoing roof repairs. Unfortunately, the hall will not be available in time for us to complete our 2023/24 Wine Appreciation Events. So, it is with heavy hearts and empty glasses that we announce the remaining planned events for this season are cancelled. 

Not to despair! The upside of this situation is that we are already set for next season! We have shifted our spring schedule to the fall, and wow, do we have a great season opener planned! 

Have a wonderful spring/summer and we look forward to seeing everyone again at the October season kickoff event.

Sold Out: Holiday Bubbles and Wine Event

Get your tickets for Lakeview’s annual Holiday Wine Tasting event. As in previous years, it will be an evening without a wine presenter. You will have the opportunity to mingle at the ‘Bubbles” bar while sampling the delectable wines and nibbles at our tasting tables.

Bring your wine glass (just one!) as wine glasses WILL NOT be available for purchase. Wander amongst the tasting tables, catch up with friends and neighbours, and enjoy Holiday pairings.

Doors open at 7:00 p.m. Tastings will be closed at 9:00 p.m.

Due to licensing regulations, we are unable to run a wine lottery.

HOWEVER! Don’t dismay! We have some surprises in store for you! Your registration is all you need to be entered in the draws to win!

Wine tasting, sommelier

An Evening With A Sommelier

The LCA Wine Committee is shaking things up so, sharpen your pencils, or charge your laptops, we are going to kick off the 2023/24 season with an Educational Event.

We have secured Alex Liakopoulos, a certified level 3 WSET, to kick-off the season and prepare us for our upcoming wine tasting events.

An Evening with a Sommelier

Lakeview Community Hall
7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7:00)
$20/person. Participants must be an active Lakeview Member, or a guest of a member.

During this 90-minute session you will learn about:

  • The Sommelier certification process
  • The art of wine tasting (white and red),
  • What to look for when purchasing wine.
  • The significance of glassware

What you need to bring:

  • 4 Wine glasses, 2 white and 2 red will be served
  • Material for note taking. (Optional)

PLEASE NOTE:

Although there will be wine served, this is NOT a wine tasting event. The ONLY food served will be baguette and gluten free crackers, upon request. The focus will be on learning and not comparing or selecting our favorite wine of the evening.

Mardi Gras Wine Night – SOLD OUT

SOLD OUT: This event is completely sold out.

Come celebrate Mardi Gras with a selection of wines presented by Galileo Wines. Enjoy tastings from France, Italy and Argentina. As usual, order forms with great discounted prices will be available during the evening.

Wines are pre-ordered and therefore, NO WALK-INS will be allowed.

Wine Appreciation Night Oct 12

The Lakeview Community Association is pleased to invite you to the reopening of Wine Appreciation Night, October 12, 2022, from 7:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

To purchase event tickets, you must be an active LCA member.  If you are not a member, we have included the option to purchase a membership at the same time as the Wine Tasting tickets.

Please choose accordingly during the registration process.

Active Members, select the first option and enter the number of tickets required:

  • Member(s) / Guest(s) – each at $30 each

Non-Members can add on a membership for family or individual

  • LCA Family Membership at $30 each;
    OR
  • LCA Individual Membership at $20 each
