The community of Lakeview is located in southwest Calgary along the north shore of Glenmore Reservoir. The gently rolling landscape provides glimpses of Glenmore Reservoir and the Elbow River Valley. The TsuuT’ina First Nations community is located directly west of Lakeview.
Lakeview is within Calgary which sits on Treaty 7 territory, on the lands of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot), Iyarhe Nakoda, and TsuuT’ina Nations, as well as Region 3 of the Alberta Métis Nation.
The community began to develop in 1962, six years after being annexed to the City. The most predominant form of development in Lakeview is single family residential dwellings. The boundaries are defined as follows:
North: Glenmore Trail
East: Crowchild Trail
South: Glenmore Park
West: 37th Street SW
